John Kerry:

 Says that now, more than ever, women in the United States need a president who will put the government and legal system back on the side of women.

Ralph Nader:

 Agrees with NOW's assertion that we must move more feminist women into policy-making positions in government

Women's Status in Society: What They've Done

George W. Bush:

 Closed the White House Office for Women's Initiatives and Outreach immediately after his inauguration.

 Attempted to eliminate the 10 regional offices of the Women's Bureau of the Department of Labor, but abandoned those plans due to protests from Congress and the public.

 Consistently places individuals hostile to women's interests on expert advisory committees on issues that are critical to women.

John Kerry:

Wrote the law which allowed for the expansion of the successful nationwide Women's Business Centers program that assists the start-up and development of small businesses owned by women. Women's Business Centers are the only organizations that focus exclusively on entrepreneurial training programs for women.
