2010 Elections : NOW PACs Profile

Suzan DelBene (D-Wash., 8th Congressional District)

Suzan DelBene

Suzan DelBene

NOW PAC is proud to endorse Suzan DelBene for Washington's 8th Congressional District seat in the United States House of Representatives. Throughout her career, DelBene has been a leader for women, as one of its only 15 women executives of Microsoft, one of the largest corportations in the United States. A technology executive and software entrepreneur for over 20 years, DelBene will bring to Congress business know-how, accountability, and a track record of getting things done.

DelBene believes in creating an equal playing field for everyone including affirmative action for women people of color and people with disabilities. She supports marriage equality and legislation that would prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation. She opposes the Defense of Marriage Act, a constitutional amendment to ban same sex marriage, and the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy.

A key difference between DelBene and her opponent is her support for women's issues. DelBene is a strong believer in women's rights and will defend a woman's right to choose. She would make funding for domestic violence programs a priority, would sponsor the ERA, and would have voted for the Lilly Ledbetter Act.

NOW PAC looks forward to supporting Suzan DelBene's candidacy and her commitment to feminist issues.
