The National Organization for Women congratulates Iraq war veteran Tammy Duckworth for her victory in the Democratic primary for Illinois's 8th Congressional District. Duckworth won by a large margin, and will go on to face incumbent Republican Congress member Joe Walsh in November.

NOW Congratulates Suzanne Bonamici on Special Election Victory

NOW/PAC-endorsed candidate Suzanne Bonamici (D) soundly defeated Tea Party favorite Rob Cornilles (R) in Tuesday's special election in Oregon's 1st Congressional District. Bonamici, a strong supporter of NOW's issues, will be the first woman in recent years to be part of Oregon's congressional delegation.

Candidate Profile: Shelley Berkley (D-Nev., U.S. Senate)

NOW/PAC is pleased to announce its endorsement of Representative Shelley Berkley (D), who is running for the U.S. Senate from the state of Nevada. Berkley has represented Nevada's 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House for seven terms, and she is running in a tight race against staunch conservative Rep. Dean Heller (R).

Former West Palm Beach Mayor Lois Frankel (D) is running against tea party incumbent Rep. Allen West (R) in the 2012 election for Florida's 22nd Congressional District. A longtime NOW member, Frankel has made full equality for women and girls a priority in every position she's held, and NOW/ PAC is pleased to endorse her.

NOW/PAC is thrilled to announce its endorsement of Rep. Mazie Hirono (D), who is running for U.S. Senate from Hawaii. If elected, she would become Hawaii's first woman senator and the first Asian-American woman senator.

NOW/PAC is pleased to endorse Democrat Susan Bysiewicz in her bid for U.S. Senate. Bysiewicz is one of four Democrats vying for the seat of retiring Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman. She could face Linda McMahon (R) in the general, who ran a close senate race in 2010 and is considering another run in 2012.

After serving as the representative for Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district since 1999, Tammy Baldwin launched her bid for the state's open Senate seat with NOW/PAC's endorsement. Baldwin faces competition in the primary, and a number of Republicans have entered the race to battle for the seat, left open by retiring Sen. Herb Kohl (D).

Candidate Profile: Suzanne Bonamici (D-Ore. 1st Congressional District)

Suzanne Bonamici (D) is running a special election, following the resignation of Rep. David Wu. Bonamici was victorious in the competitive primary on Nov. 8, 2011, which willl now be followed by a general election on Jan. 31, 2012. Oregon has had no women in their congressional delegation in recent years making Bonamici's candidacy especially important for women's rights supporters.
